Show City UonnclL Meeting of the city council, Tuesday Tues-day evening, Mayor Wells, presiding. pre-siding. Petition of M. J. Snedaker asking for an extension of time for payment of his delinquent city taxes, was referred re-ferred to the assessor and collector. Petition of Ilobert Dunn and eighteen others, owning land southeast south-east of the city asjlum, asking that they be allowed to use half ol the water of Emigration creek, and that Robert Dunn be appointed water-master water-master of that district, was laid on the table. A similar petition from H. H. Harris Har-ris and eleven others, was also laid on the tabic. A petition was received from Elizabeth Eliza-beth Aahworth, asking that her city taxes be remitted was laid on the table to come up at a special meeting of the council for passing on Bimitar petitions. The committee on water works presented pre-sented a bill for $192.92 for lumber to fence the trenches while the mains are being laid: bill allowed. Councilor Carrington, who starts to Europe on Wednesday morning, tendered his resignation, which was accepted, and George V. Thatcher was elected to the position for the unexpired un-expired term. The mayor was authorized to distribute distri-bute to each of the city officers a copy of the revised ordinances of Salt Lake city; also to send copies to certain other municipal corporations. The price of the volumes, bound in law calf, was fixed at $2.50 each. Council adjourned to next Tueaday Qveningat7 o'clock. |
