Show Dr. Miller, of the Omaha Herald, ia a confirmed specie maniac. Yet the Herald, one of the most useful nnd profitable journals in tho west, was started and haa been built up entirely en-tirely upon a greenback basis. Though there is not a single silver quarter in circulation in Omaha or Nebraska, the crops of that state have been unusually good, manufactories are increasing, the people are voting bonds for new railroad enterprises, and do not appear to bo as utterly miserable as they ought to be, judging judg-ing from the Herald's spiteful anti-greenback anti-greenback articles. Will that paper please inform its readers that if any of them are wearied with carrying large amounts of currency, they can invest ftDy quantity of it in Salt Lake city at li and 2 per cent, on the best real estate security? Please don't men, for lear they may become valueless. |
