Show ' My Life in Bondage." Mrs. Ann Eliza Young appeared last night before a fair audience in point of numbers at tho M. E. Church in this city. Her lecture was mainly a repetition of her previous eflort here. She was in good voice, and some of her points were warmly applauded. She sticks closely to her manuscript, and to a practised ear conveys tlie impression that she is playing a part in wbich she has not a very deep interest, in-terest, aside from the pecuniary value of her lecture. If we should attempt to analyze Ann Eliza's eflort we should say that it was tinged with a trifle of that womanly instinct jealousy, jea-lousy, and that the 6tory of her years 'of sorrow "in bondage " was padded .considerably to call out the sympathies sym-pathies of the audience. However, there is no accounting for taste. |
