Show Who Thought of ItV An item is going the rounds of the western press that ''eight hundred men aro building a road from Bingham Bing-ham to Dry Cafion' We are delighted de-lighted to hear it. Its a great help to this country, in tho largo buiub of money which are daily paid out to those eight hundred. They must get about $3 each per day and board; result, re-sult, paid in wages daily, $2,400 or $02,100 a month; it costs not less than $1 a day for a laboring man's board, . therefore $S00 per day additional is circulated through tho country, oc, $20,800 per month. Then the other, expenses incidental to the working of such a force cannot be less than $300 a day, or $7,800 a month. Thus there is being paid out, only twentj'-fivc twentj'-fivc miles from this city, by one company, com-pany, $3,500 daily, aggregating $01,-000 $01,-000 a month. The above figures are based upon tho supposition that the item concerning con-cerning the 800 men and the road from Bingham to Dry Canon was correct; but as there is nothing iu it, why, of course, the figures are only what would be the result if the item were true. |
