Show THE STORY OF A BOTTLE. AND HOW IT WAS SES.T ADRIFT BY THE GERMAN GIRLS. No little interest lias been manifested mani-fested in the German family, a portion por-tion of whom were brutally murdered by the Cheyenne Indians, last fall, while on their way to Denver, and the remainder, the two eldest daughters, daugh-ters, carried into captivity, though since happily restored to civilization. The porticulars of their capture, and the tales of their terrible Buffering while held by the savages, were heart rending in the extreme, and are familiar to our reader; but there is another little unpublished episode connected with their checkered career, ca-reer, which will bear telling. Sometime Some-time since, it is reported, a bottle waa picked up on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico, near the mouth of the Brazos river, which, upon examination, ex-amination, was found to contain a paper pa-per on which was written an account of the capture of the German girls ; and the names of the various members mem-bers of the family ; how the parents were murdered, together with other facts and incidents ; also their approximate approx-imate location and temporary camp, which was evidently on the headwaters head-waters of the Brazos. Thia bottle had been corked up tightly by Catherine Cath-erine and Sophia, the two eldest girls, and thrown into the river, in hopea it might reach civilization in that way; and, strange to say, after having traveled 800 or 1,000 miles along the devious, winding and changing current cur-rent of the magnificent stream, it was picked up on the Gulf cf Mexico many weeks aftor the captive girls had written this bottle history of their sufferings, aud about the same time the story of their eventful and horrible hor-rible eight months' captivity was given , to the world from their own lipa.
