Show Cinnabar. Yesterday Dr. Brcdemeycr showed us a beautiful specimen of cinnabar, taken from one of tho ledges of that mineral in Camp Floyd district. The specimens had the nppearanco of being rich, and through the quartz were streaks of bright vermillion.Tiic ! doctor says the ledgo on which the Xew Idra i"o. 2 and the Jenny Lind are located can be traced on the eur-faco eur-faco fora distance of three mileB.So far as it has been opened the vein rang-'es rang-'es from one to five feet in width with 'clear defined foot and head walls, the former being of limestone, the latter of calcerous shale. The vein is said 'to contain barytcs, which is a good indication of its being continuous Some specimens have assayed as high as from twenty-six pounds to ' eight per cent, of fine cinnabar to the ton. The New ldra No. 2 is developed by a tunnel on the voin thirty-five feet in length and the Jenny Dind by an incline fifty feet deep; but neither neith-er of the claims are being worked nt present. |
