Show Arrest, ol Prominent Counter-lei Counter-lei lem. Nashville, Tenn., 11. A Decatur, Ala., special says United States Marshal Mar-shal Baker arrived this afternoon with J. C. Graham, of Gainesville, Sumpler county, B. S.Neil.Alexander and George 3apson, and John Henly, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., charged with counterfeiting. B. B. Bowers, now under arrest here for counterfeiting, was foreman of the last grand jury nf Green county, steward of the M. E. church and superintendent of the Sabbath Bchool. When arrested Bowers had on his person $100 in counterfeit fifty cent fractional currency cur-rency and $300 counterfeit $5 and $20 legal tenders. Bowers, socially and financially, is prominent, and gives a bond lor $20,000. The marshal from Middle district, Tenn., arrived to-day, having in custody W. W. Gordon, of Lynville, Tenn. Gordon, in his section, has commanded tho respect of the community. It is claimed that his connection with the counterfeiters was conspicuous. To-Dight To-Dight United States Marshal Baker will carry the prisoners, twelve in number, to Huntsville, Ala, |
