Show Theatre. Last night there was a good house on the occasion of the farewell benefit of Laura Alberta, and the play of the ''Heiress of Marcy," presented for tho first time, was a decided success. It is without doubt tho best piece produced produ-ced during the Aiberta engagement. The drama was strongly cast and every one appeared to make the most of their parts. Alberta' as the heroine acted with much spirit, and elicited marked applause. Miss Den in as the Gipsey tjuccn looked and acted the part to the life. The scenic effects were very" fine, and the tibleaux strikingly realistic. The Arerv Belle, with Mr. Harrison and Mr. Crosbie in the leading roles, was very amuiiug, wl cliciltd roars of laughter. 'I ho same bill throughout will be repeated to-r.ight, which is positively the last appearance of Alberta and Mr. Harrison. Messrs. R e and Archer sing the duett of the minute gun at sea between the pieces. |
