Show . . Drunken K-iiilkus. Shortly after the performance commenced at. tho Theatre last evening, three drunken soidiera were creating a disturbance, much to the annoyanceof the public, when some of the attaches of the plaee told them to be quiet. The seldiers then went into the third circle, cir-cle, but in a fw moments) one of the party returned, striking the doorkeeper door-keeper a severe blow with his fist as he passed, and also hitting another man who was going np stairs. Another An-other of the ruffians then left the circle, cir-cle, hrandishing a dirk knife in his hand, ana threatening to kill any one who should, interfere with him. When he reached the sidewalk he turned around the e-orncr of the building, : going north, where he was followed by some special police officers. As the latter approached the desperado, he commenced shooting at them, tiring a number of shots, one of which grazed tho head of a gentlemen in pursuit. The soldier then ran up the street through the Eagle gate on the City Creek cafion road, closely followed fol-lowed by the police, but who, in the darkness, lost track of him near the old wood saw milt at the mouth of the canon. Some of the regular police and others were still searching for hut hud not found him at a late hour Inst night. It is scarcely possible that the desperadoes des-peradoes will be caught, but should they, it is to be hoped they wdl receive re-ceive punishment equal to their offences. |
