Show WILLIAM DEARDEN RESPONDS TO SUMMONS william dearden of porterville died sunday at the good old age ae of eighty five years william dearden died at 3 30 0 clock sunday morning of old age and general debility the funeral was held at the porterville meeting house monday afternoon and was largely attended interment was made in the porterville cemetery the speakers were bishop S S florence joseph durant george brough henry fleary florence sr john R porter pros pres heiner and counselor W H rich mr deard dearden en was born july 7 1826 in haddock Lanca lancashire shiro england he was the son of thomas themas and ann forrest dearden he was converted to the mormon marmon church in 1847 and came to utah in 1862 crossing the plains in capt millers company with ox teams two of his children died and were buried on the plains he with the other members of the company endured many privations vat ions often suffering for food and clothing but through alche all he remained steadfast to the gospel and lived always a righteous and upright life he was a bard working man and one who worked and endured silently he was as was once spoken of him a silent hero deceased is survived by four children twenty five grand child f p ve arcu grand ren 4 f his children are jarc james los dearden henefer denef or utah thos dearden bearden idaho falls idaho mrs betsey creechley and aad mrs mary E kershaw potterville Porter erville Tille |
