Show Arrival of Immigrants. Alxnit eleven o'clock yesterday morning the company of immigrants, whose names we published a few days since, 'arrival at the depot in this city, where many of them were met by relatives and friends; and everything every-thing around the depot block was lively all day in disposing of tho newcomers, new-comers, some of whom immediately started for various settlements in tho south and other parts of the Territory. The company left Liverpool by steamship steam-ship Wyomimj, on September 3rd, arrived ar-rived in Xew York on the 14th, and the next day left for this Territory. On the ocean they were delayed twice, once for two days to repair some broken machinery, and the other time at Sable Island, where the vessel struck on a sand bar, and where considerable con-siderable freight was thrown overboard over-board before she could bo got off. The immigrants have suffered little on account of sickness, and have lost, only two by death jon the entire journey, jour-ney, two children dying in Illinois. The parly were huppy, yesterday, to get to the end of their long journey, and all felt to return their thanks to Bishop Fairbnnks, the president of the company, for the care he had taken of them. |
