St. John, general ticket agent of tlie Chicago, Hock Island and 1'aciiie railroad; and Mi's. James Hills, wife of Mr. James Hills, cashier for Ogden, Sheldon it Co., Chicago. The ladies traveled across the plains on the train with President Smith and Mr. Jennings, and are enjoying en-joying themselves greatly. They are ! progro.-ing westwanl on a trip of pleasure, and propose leaving this afternoon, spending the early part of the day iu seeing something of Salt Lake. MissGillmoro has lung been connected with the post office department depart-ment and government service, her brother having been a few years ago postmaster at Chicago, and her father was receiver at the land oliice at Omaha.
