Show MIXING THIXGS. The Glasgow Herald of March 10, commences a lengthy editorial history of tho Emma mine, gotten up with transatlantic accuracy when treating of matters in this part of tho world, with tho following paragraph : It is not surprising that tho mine which is named after Emma, the favor-ito favor-ito wife of Brigham Young, should not be a favorite in Glasgow. Jim ma has allured many a speculator to his ruin, and as generally happens iu speculative specula-tive stockbroking, she has cruelly injured crowds of those innocent and simple people who want to make a little money faster than they know how to do at home, and who oredulously swallow every story that oomes to them from far enough abroad. Perhaps it is worth while telling tho story of the mine and the company for the edification edifica-tion aod warning of others. To which the annexed pithy reply was penned and published in the same paper of tho nest day : Glasgow, March 10, 1S73. Sir, I notice a slight mistake in your editorial of this morniug on the Emma mino. The mine was not named after" timnia.the favorite wife of Brig-ham Brig-ham Young." lie has no wife by that name; nor did it derive its name from any Mormon lady. The Mormons havo never possessed any interest whatever iu that mine; in fact, they do not bother themselves at all about mines. Tbey aro industriously engaged en-gaged in attending to their agricultural aud commercial pursuits, and leave speculation to those who aro better adapted to that kind of business than they are to legitimate labor.
