Show rrlutlumc Ec Einrry. ! . Last evening a select audience of ladies and gentlemen greeted this talented lady at her musical recital. The lady is a most accomqlished pian- . ist, combining marvelous execution with a strength and brilliancy of expression ex-pression very rarely listened to. We understand Madame De Barry's presence pres-ence in Salt Lake City is casual, having hav-ing visited it for the purpose of seeing see-ing the place and not for the purpose of appearing as a musical artist, although al-though s'.ie brings with her abundant and Haltering testimonials from many of the leading musicians of the United Sttitts. She was, however, persuaded that many of our citizens would esteem es-teem it a favor if she would consent to give a parlor entertainment before her departure, and the recital of last evening was the result. It is not our in tent ion to specify the particular pieces interpreted by Madame De Barry, but only to bear testimony to their general excellence. Having discovered that the lady is truly an artist, it will be surprising if she is allowed to depart without again being requested to give the lovers of good music an opportunity of listening to Iit. . 1 |
