Show By W. D. Telegraph. THE PUIHB4CK-, New Orleans, 13. Tho Pinohback Republican Convention had a stormy session last evening. General Hugh J. Campbell spoke favoring an alliance alli-ance with the Liberals and endorsing Greeley, stating that if the motion failed he would withdraw from the convention. The proposition to fuse with the Liberals was lost, eighty-scvon eighty-scvon to one ninety-eight, when Campbell, Camp-bell, president of the convention, with eighty-seven members, withdrew. Colonel Geo. W. Carter also dec:ared for Greeley. Pinchback declared that a Republican government in Louisiana conld only be had under the leadership of Grant, and in a longi-peech favored the election of Grant. The Pinchback party will now fuse with the custom house Republicans. |
