Show A SCRAPE OS SUNDAY SHAVING. P.m.t Lke City. Ju'i !7 IS 72. EHtnrs l.rad: Some of tho barbers have been making mak-ing complaints that their places were clcsed on Sunday, while the Townsend House barber was allowed to operate. I keep a barber to attend to my euest.o. On Sunday last, gentlemen who had been traveling for some days, and who arrived on Saturday ni:ht, were shaved in my hotel. Yesterday my barber was fined for shaving them, and I paid the fine. Tho barbers will perceive the municipal authorities are no respectors of persons. I havo heard President Young preach of strait-laced people who whipped their beer-barrels for working work-ing on Sunday. I think it would be well for thecity authorities to impose a fine on beards for growing on Sunday. I have not rented a barber shop to a barber, j but oonsider my guests should be per mitted to appear asoleanly as the laws of God and human decency require them to do. I do not regard the fine, but imagine that by tho time we become be-come a little more religious we will be in the road traveled by all people who pay more attention to the outside of the platter than to having it clean inside. in-side.
