O., lo The Industrial Congress of the United States, composed com-posed of delegates from the vnrioi trades unions throughout theeountry, commenced its session in this city, today. to-day. About seventy delegates were present, representing twelve States. The Congress was called to order by M. A. Koran, President of the Coopers' International Union, who made an address of welcome, and stated the objects of the session, one of which, he said, was to form a new political party. Permanent oilicers were elected, elect-ed, as follows: President, John Fe-brenbath, Fe-brenbath, Cleveland; Secretaries. S. Keefe, Philadelphia and John Seblev, Indianapolis. A vice-president will be elected after the adoption of a constitution. con-stitution. A committee on rules was appointed, and the Congress adjourned adjourn-ed until to-morrow. |
