Show Esker Dliu. To-night Mr. Shiel Barry will 'appear 'ap-pear in his renowned character of Thady, the orphan, in Charles Gay- 1 er's new and original version of "Handy Andy," "Eskcr Dim, or The ' t ray Lady." The character of Thady ' s peculiary adopted to Mr. Barry's power, being on extremely etrong part, calculated to bring out all that luiet, unctuous humor, for the mani-estation mani-estation of which he is so remarkable, diftdy is a stupid, blundering, but nind hearted servant, who, at the end of the third act turns out to be the Lord Dudleigh. In the fourth ict he assumes his high social position, posi-tion, and his aire and clumsiness," his utter ignorance of good breeding and the ways of high life, afford an opportunity oppor-tunity for situations of the most grotesque gro-tesque and rediculous character. The plot of the play is very interesting, interest-ing, differing, however, from the original orig-inal story; and Sir. Gayler has shown his ability as an inventive and constructive con-structive dramatist in building around his character of Thady a strong . and very enective drama. The cast will be very strong bringing bring-ing into requisition all the prominent members of the company and the scenery and mounting will be all that is desired. The piece is in four acts. |
