Show Barratt's Opbnino. During our rambles yesterday evening we dropped in at C. B. Barratt's. As previously announced (his was to bo the grand opening evening, and every effort possible pos-sible had been made to display the magnificent goods. On entering the atore we first noticed a splendid variety of cottage chamber 6ets, in imitation of oak and walnut, handsomely decorated. deco-rated. Oq the opposito sido the shelves were crowded with white and gold band, French ohina, dinner, desert, de-sert, and tea sets, toilet sets, fancy goods, such as statuettes, vases and ornaments, fine cut and plain glass ware, silver ware, and tabla cutlery, besides the usual amount of common white granite, and general household goods. Passing up staira wo entered tho sotlth room. Here wero displayed elegant parlor suits in haircloth, green, crimson, and fino gold striped coverings cover-ings ; large French plate mirrors; folding and easy chairs ; lounges, tables and an endless variety of cane and rosewood seat chairs Parsing into the north room there was a magnificent mag-nificent display. Here were fine-chamber sets in oil wahl, with French panels highly polished, in ulain and gilt, imported at a great cost from Boston. Passing down stairs we were invited into tho offico, and certainly had to admire the good taste displayed by Mr. Frank, tho gentlemanly bookkeeper, book-keeper, in fitting up tho offica. Mr. Barrett has displayed great energy and business qualities in looking to the wants of the public by introducing intro-ducing the best of oommon as well as fino goods, which will always give satisfaction. Wo particularly noticed the cleanliness, neatness and good taste displayed in tho arrangement of tho goods so as to show to tho most advantage ad-vantage Tho rooms were illuminated for the occasion, which had a fino effect ef-fect on the goods.
