We lind the following in the Ogden Jintdivn of ycslcrday; Last Monday, as Thomas Brown was on his. way to Evanston with two yoke of cattle and a, load of Hour, pork, household goods, etc., he came near losing his life in Weber canon. On reaching the vicinity of Devil's Gate, the cattle being thirsty, turned to get a drink and struck right into the river. Mr. Brown had jiist time torfumpout of the wagon, when the whole outfit was carried away by the rapid current and went down tho roaring stream. The wagon was dashed dash-ed to pieces on the liouldcrs, and the cattle torn to shreds. The whole load was lost, and also a coat with wunc money and valuable papers. Mr. Brown w;is fortunate in being able to jump clear of the wagon in time to save liimself, |
