New, in Indian Commissioner Commis-sioner Ingulls, of Salt Lake, hax been holding a grand council here, during the pa.-t two days, the object being to lay before the Indians a proportion to be moved to a reservation within the next year, and also to distribute the annuities. Sxn alter the distribution had commenced com-menced it was ascertained that tae PiuUn and PaiiuUs had allied and were aUmt to engage in a general fight against the Shoshoncs. The trouble originated partially on account of the distribution and partly on account ac-count of former troubles. Tne condition condi-tion of affairs compelled a separation of IriU's and a redistribution bad to be resorted to in order to securo good feeling. To-night the chiefs of all the tribe met to discuss the the reservation question. The chief of the Pashules, Nacfiea refused to participate in ihe council nnd withdrew. The Shoshoncs, Sho-shoncs, however, ngreid to send a couple ofdelcgatcs to look at the reservation at Fort Pill, Montana, nnd if suitable they will emigrate in fpring. |
