As Horace 1 Holmcroft, the lover of Mercy, Mr. I Mardcn appeared to advantage. He : rendered the part with his usual care, , looked handsome, and dressed with j exquisite taste. Mr. Thome, as the j old German army surgeon, and the i other gentlemen in the prologue, 1 made of their parts all that could be desired, j The mounting of the piece was 1 really grand, and reflected much j credit upon the taste and judgment of the stage manager, Mr, Vinson. The set of the dining room and conservatory conserva-tory of "Marblethorpe House" was one of the finest ever seen in this city, and entitles all concerned in its production pro-duction to much praise. Mr. George TiVrell, the scenic artist, gave us in this another proof of his artistic ability; while Mr. Kecd, the stage carpenter, and Mr. Baker, the property man, and their respective assistants all contributed to the magnificence of the scene.
