Show .Knrru O'Gorman's Lecture. Agreeable to puMi.h' n"tico Edith O'Uoruiau delieied her ''Life in a Convent" lecture iu tho old tabcrnaolo last evening. Tho audience, numerically numer-ically speaking, was elim,. which indicated indi-cated very clearly tho estimation which tho public hero placo upon lectures on loligioitH horrors and sensations. Miss O'Uorman possesses a decidedly Milesian Mil-esian cast of countenance, and bor periods are rounded off in talking, with a very perceptible intonation of "Kerry "Ker-ry brogue." Sho speaks her piece very well, and has it so perfectly committed com-mitted to memory that she is not often necessitated to refer to her notos; but as an impromptu speaker we conclude sho is not a success, as was ovidenced during tho course of her leoture when , sho cs. ayed a personal explanation, j The written lecture ia rather a fulsome laudation of Miss Edith O'Gorman, 1 interspersed with denunciations of tho ; Sisters of Charity and the Catholio priesthood, and since wo havo heard ; her wo agrco with her cordially in the j proposition, that "it is a weak church 1 that cannqx stand tho attack of one : little woman" personified in herself.
