Show Burglary. ' Sometime on Tuesday evening the residence of Mrs. -0. F. Jones - in the Fifteenth waixl was entered by burglars bur-glars through an open window and several articles of jewelry taken. The lady was absent from home .at the time of the ' theft, and ' consequently had no idea as to who the thief was. The thief, after having got off with the "swag," went to a saloon and sold a cluster ring. In handling it one of the stones dropped out, and the buyer.. yesterday took it to a jeweler's shop to have it reset". Mrs. Jones, who had been instructed by the police to try the jewelers' shops, identified the ring, and the oflicers kept watch on the place all day for the person, coming for it. They were at last rewarded by seeing and securing secur-ing him, when the man told them he had merely bought the ring, would know the one from whom he obtained obtain-ed it, and would point him out. Soon afloi-j on the street, the thief, whoso name is OampbellSaw fhe officers of-ficers and the buyer of the ring together, to-gether, and "made tracks" with all speed, but was captured, and last night reposed in the city jail, tiller confessing the burglary. |
