Show Coroner's Inquest. Yesterday morniDg county coroner George J. Taylor held an icqa1-! on t!:-" body of professor John Tultlge, who bod dropped dead in the theatro on the night previous. Messrs. P. Margett?, senr., W. Caldcr and J. Currio tcsti-God. tcsti-God. The first named gentleman had seen him stretched on tho stairs leading lead-ing to tic third circle of the theatre, brcathiug heavily: and, considering he was in a fit, witness went to proenre assistance to render what service might be needed. The other gentlemen testified tes-tified that when they arrived life was extinct; and described tho position and condition in which they found deoea.aed. After hearing the evidence, the following verdict was returned: Territory of Utah, 1 Ur.d Precinct, Salt Lake County. J An inquisition holden at the residence resi-dence of deceased, 7th Ward, 2nd Precinct, S. L. coumy. on the lS h day of January, A. D. 1S73, before Geo. J . Taylor, coroner of said county, u poo tho body of -John Tullide, senr., there lying dead, by the jurors whose names are hereto subicriPcd. Sa;d jurors, upon their oaths do say, according to the evidence given by witnesses, saii deoetsed came to his death by natural causes. Tavlor, Coroner. i The deceased was sixty-sir years of ago, and has been long known in the world of music, to which science io early life he bad become attached, devoting de-voting to it unquestioned ability and makiDg it bis profession. He was a native of the south of England, and emigrated to this Territory in the summer sum-mer of 1S63. As will be seen by notice elsewhere, the funeral services will be held this forenoon, in the 14th Ward school room?. |
