Show thk 1 mr. The match between Rowdy and 'jraager was decided on yesterd-y. At quite an early hoar the people commenced com-menced gathering, and at the time for the start there was a goodly assemblage assem-blage of ladies and gentlemen to witness wit-ness the contest. The weather was all that could be wished, ard the track in first rate ordtr. At three o'clock, the judges being in the Etand, the horses were called up fjr the word. A great deal of time was cut to waste by eoor-inr, eoor-inr, but at last the word was given w.th Granger on the inside, and about a length behind. They went well to the first turn, when Rowiy went up and flattered for some lime, when he concluded con-cluded to come down to the earth and trot awhile, bat he was a little overmatched, over-matched, and went skipping atjd skiving skiv-ing to the end of the hat, which he lost by about a length and a half. For the second heat another driver took Rowdy in hand, yet it was nut an improvement, for the horses scored until un-til the judges and spec:a:Lr-i !or. all patience, when the drivers were ordered or-dered to take a standing start, the judges appointing a gentleman to see that they were cverf. This time they got the word. This heat was a repetition repeti-tion of the last, and Granger had it all his own way, winning the heat at his ease. When called for the third heat, Rowdy was driven by the same driver he had in tho first. The horses got the word on the first tria', and, as nearly every one thought, it was an easy thing for Granger to got away with it, he winning tho heat, race and money without an effort. Immediately after the above race was over, there was a match made between Dolly Varden and Honest B Lily, half mile heats, best two in three. In this race Billy made Dolly take a bnek scat, he winning oolii heals. Mr. Taylor has an iuside rail all around the track, which is a decided improvement, and when ha y.;ts through with the other arrangements he contemplate?, this will be about as good a race courso as anybody's, SUMMARY.
