Show The Takh-t on Ores ani Bul lion. The iMdi r:ioi u-.-oiitly entered into between the . P. and C. P. railroad rail-road companies, fixing the rates for the transfer of ores and bullion, is understood to embrace a period of five yearn. Uniform rates have been agreed upon for both roads, between Ogden and San Francisco and between 0;den and Omaha respectively. It will bo recollected that the old tariff on ore was $1S.75 per ton without respect to i quality or value, and on bullion iS I per ton. To-day a new tariff will go in-, in-, to e fleet, in accordance with which ores ! worth not over $luO per ton will be charged -1 i per ton freight; ores worth over $100 and not over $200 per ton will be charged $J0; all ores worth over $200 per ton $20. Tho ' lead in all ores to be computed in valuation at three and a half cents a pound. The rales uii bullion are as follows : Bullion worth not over $200 per ton, 520 per ton; over $200 and not over , $j0o per tun $2o; all over $300 per ton J0. The ton is understood to be 2,000 pounds in this computation. The two railroad companies will appoint ap-point an aisaycr at Salt Lake who will determine the value of all ores by asay from samples of one-tenth of each shipment. The Utah Central rates arc now $2., per car, or $2. .10 per ton for all classes of ore'and bullion between be-tween Suit Lake and Ogden. Since the above was in type we have received the following official notioo from tho U. P. railroad: On and after Nov. Llth, 1 s 7 1 , and until further notice the rates on silver and other ores and on matt or base bullion bul-lion in car load lots from Ogden to Omaha will be as follows. On ore of an as.-ay value not exceeding $100 per ton of 2,000 pounds, seventy cents per 100 pounds. Exceeding ijiloO and not escccding $200 per ton, $1 per 100 pounds. Exceeding $2o0 per ton $I.2;" per 100 pounds. On base bullion of an assay value not exceeding $200 per ton of 2,000 pounds Si per 100 pounds. Excoeding $2o0 and not exceeding $."00 per ton, $ 1. 2o per 100 pounds. Exceeding $.;00 per ton $1.50 per 100 pounds. Charges will in all cases bo made on at least 20,000 pounds and in case the amount loaded on any car exceeds 22,000 pounds then double above rates will bo collected on such excess. Tlio assay value named will include not only gold and silver but also lead valued at three and one half cents per pound.
