The bill sets furth the provisions of the acts of 'i)'2 and '04, that the L'nion Pacific railway company and its branches chartered char-tered at the same time should b-3 operate oper-ate I a5 one continuous and connected line, and that they should not diierini- inate against each other as to time, rates I or in any way. Then it states tiist the branch roads compiain thai t)u-y are discriminated against in violation o: law; and it provides a remedy that either companies aggrieved may begin suit either at law or in equity, in any circuit court of the V. S. or Territorial Territo-rial court having jurisdiction, and on final hearing the court n-ay render a judgment for all damages to coniplain-i coniplain-i ant and enforce the judgment by se-qu se-qu eviration or execution and sale of the road and franchises, and if necessaiy niay causo forfeiture of the charter t f the offending company. The bill also provide? that in all cases where thg Union Pacitic railway and branches or any of them cannot agree on terms of the transportation of freight and passengers, either company m-T notify the secretary of the interior of tho tact, and ho shall thuruupon give notice to the other company, or companies, compa-nies, and at an appointed time fix a schedule sche-dule of rates which must be adopted by tho companies, and if either of them refuse re-fuse to abide the decision ha may cause thoroad, etc., to be seized and sold on such terms as ho may prescribe, or report re-port tho facta to the President of the United States, to bo transmitted to congress con-gress for action, as may be deeme i proper. pro-per.
