Show KILLED DY INDIAN S. The following telegram was received yesterday morning by a gentleman in town, who was intimately acquainted with tho unfortunate deceased : Beaver, June 21. Cornelius O'Connele was killed yesterday yes-terday by Indians in ambush, while he was crossing the mountains from Bullion Bul-lion city, Sevier mines, to Beaver. Subsequently the additional particulars particu-lars given below were obtained by Des-eret Des-eret telegraph : Beaver, 21. Yesterday morning, tho 20th inst., while Cornelius O'Con-nell O'Con-nell and Mr. McMain were crossing the mountains from Bullion City, at tho Sevier mines, to Beaver, they were fired upon by Indians in ambush, twenty miles cast of Copcland's sawmill. saw-mill. O'Connell was shot dead, and McMain had one of his arms broken. McMain came into Copeland's mill, on Indian creek, about 9 o'clock last evening, when an express was immediately imme-diately sent into Beaver for Doctor Christian, who left at 1 o'clock this morning to attend to the wounded man, and have him brought to Beaver. The body of O'Connell is still where it fell, butjviM be hunted up and attends man that attended to bis own business. |
