Show KEiXEKAL. The Atlantic Cables. Boston, 19. The steamer Robert Loxce is engaged in undermining and repairing the French cabio between the Island of St. Pierre and Dusbury, Mass. The fact has developed that the loss of both English cables last year, and the consequent expense and inconvenience, resulted from a stupendous stupen-dous blunder. When the cabio of 'OG gave out, the fault was treated by the usual tests in mid-ocean, whither d repair steamer was dispatched to take it up and reunite the two ends. In grappling for these cables, the cabio ol Go was picked up and accidentally severed, and the efforts to find the break in that of '00 were fruitless. This left the public dependant entirely upon the French cable until late last spring, when it was discovered that the tault in the cable of 'GO instead of being be-ing in mid-ocean was in close proximity proxim-ity to tho Newfoundland const, where it might have been repaired in a few hours except for the original inistako, which resulted in the rupture of one cable by the efforts to find the break in the other where it did not exist.
