Show A Pcblic Nuisance. On tho 7th iost. thero was a school-meeting in , Coalvillo, which was attended by John Spriggs, who enteied while th meeting meet-ing was in progress. He was in liquor; John -usually is. Soon niter his entrance en-trance the chairman found it necessary to call him to order, which had to bo repeated several times. Ho wished to speak and was allowed to do so. After a rambling discourse of some length, which (raveled a loug way from the subject the meeting was called to discuss, dis-cuss, the chairman requested him to keep to tho subject; and John responded, respond-ed, in his usually polite style; "You shut your d d mouth," following it with elegant expressions of a similar character, interlarded with expletives which are usually finable in the cities in this Territory, and covering violent j threats. Thomas Copely knocked him down with a chair, which calmed his violence a little. Sprigs was arrested and removed from the mceliug; and' next day Copely was fined $" for an assault. Now oomos Spriggs into Salt 1 Lake, i-ecures a writ for Copely issued by J udgo McKeaii, and has him brought in under arrest. Yesterday there was an investigation before Judge Slriekland, who hold Copely in l,uOU bonds, there being soino tall simply a public nuisance.
