We trust it will close all newspaper controversy con-troversy on the subject, aud that the people of that region will henceforth be regularly supplied with their mail matter. Had Mr. Howe proceeded to inquire into the cause of the mails not being carried, when the telegram to which he refers appeared in the Herald, Her-ald, and had he then set tho causes calmly before the public and removed them, instead of rushing into print with the violent diatribe against the entire community which called forth the letter of .Mr. Rich, ho would have acted iu a maimer that would have redounded re-dounded more lo his credit as a mail contractor and public servant. Wo desire to sej tho people everywhere in the Territory regularly supplied with their mail matter, and do not imagine that violent attacks on them will exonerate exon-erate any man for his Subordinates or himself failing lo do their duly. |
