Show By W.U.Tolosranb. OUTRANKS ON CHINESE IX CALIFORNIA. CAL-IFORNIA. New York, 8. At a meeting of tho chamber of commcrco yesterday, A. A. Low submitted a letter from Ohphant &Co.,of China, regarding tho outrages out-rages recently committed on Chinamen in Los Angeles, California, together with extracts from certain newspaper there, on the same subject. The letter j suggested that such outrages will tend to render the lives and property of Americans iu China very unsafe. Low hoped tho chamber would take somo action in the matter. The Chinese in California havo been subjected, from the first, to attacks from the lower 1 classes in that State. Thoro is antagonism an-tagonism between the labor of Ihe : Chinese and that of white men, and I this letter sets forth the danger that constantly besots the Chinese. He thought it worthy of some action on the part of this government, that tho character of tho nation, in its treatment treat-ment of this people, maybe sustained.
