The wreck of the steamship Cumbria, of the Anchor Line, which struck one of the Innistrahull group, on her passage to thi pott, has been found. The vessels which have been cruising around the vicinity of the spot indica-catcd indica-catcd by McGartland, the only mirvi-vor mirvi-vor of the disastor, have been rewarded by finding the missing steamer at the ocean bottom. Yesterday a vessel discovered dis-covered the wreck of the Cumbria five miles ol) Innistrahull Island, where she foundered, lyinft upon her ide in five fathoms of water. The intelligence intelli-gence of the finding of the Cumbria , has circulated hern with marvelous rapidity, nnd the uinil intense excitement excite-ment prevails. It is probable that niibinurine divers will be dispatched immediately to the wreck to ascertain the futo of the passengers pas-sengers whether nil escaped in the boats only to be lot, or whether unniR remained upon nnd went down in the wreck. The wieek lies in lite eouinc of vessels ves-sels following the Irish coast, through ihe North Channel, and is pronounced a dnnerous obstruction to navigation. |
