Show A Correction. A gentleman intimated in-timated to another on Saturday that tlw reaou why the Herald did not notice the Governor's proclamations at length on Saturday morning, was because be-cause it was waiting to have an opinion opin-ion from another Eource. The gentleman gentle-man who said so must have curious ideas of honesty of statement, as the reason was given that morning why-more why-more was not said. We held back our paper beyond the usual time of going to press that the proclamations might appear, and had not time to get comments com-ments in type without infringing too much upon the courtesy of the gentlemen gentle-men of the post office, who have a specified hour for closing the office as well as closing the mails. The Herald has very decided opinions on such subjects, sub-jects, and does not wait for an expression expres-sion of opinion from any source before forming its own. Try to think so, gentlemen, and save yourselves some blunders. |
