The debate upon Sherman's resolution, resolu-tion, directing the judiciary committee to report in favor of Ku tthix legislation, legisla-tion, was continued, Pool addressing the Senate iu a lengthy exposition of the cause of and remedy for the outrages out-rages in the South. HOtSE. Shellabarger proposed that, by unanimous unan-imous consent, the House take up resolutions res-olutions from 4:30 to 7:30 this evening for debate merely. He made this suggestion sug-gestion because so many gentlemen desire de-sire to address the House on the bill to enforce the 14th amendment to the Constitution. After general conversation conver-sation this was agreed to, and it was further agreed that to-morrow should be devoted to debate only. The House then resumed consideration of the bill. |
