The Pacific Pneumatic Gas Company Compa-ny is prepared to contract with gentlemen gentle-men residing in Ufah Territory and adjacent States, to erect gas works at their residences, and give them every advantage in light, which inhabitants of large cities possess, at less rate than coal-gas companies charge in this State. Also, to contract with hotel proprie-' proprie-' tors, saloon and store-keepers, trustees of churches, principals of schools and colleges, and mining, manufacturing aud railroad companies, to give them a far more brilliant light than can be obtained ob-tained from coal-oil lamps, at less cost in proportion to the light given. ECONOMICAL OAa I'OK COUNTRY TO WXri. The great cost of making, on a small scale, coal gas, passably free from impurities, im-purities, has prevented the introduction introduc-tion of this prime convenience of modern times into small towns, and the generally bad ,Uality and high price of the production, where coal-gas works have been erected, in other than the largest cities, have limited the consumption con-sumption to less than one-half what it would be if the gas were good and furnished fur-nished as cheap a light as kerosene oil. A hen gas of fair quality can be manufactured with inexpensive works, and at a reasonable price, every little town, with even one well-built street, will have its gas works, aud the profits of the manufacturers will be more certain cer-tain and more liberal than those now earned by most country gas companies. The scientific and general press have repeatedly called attention to the field for discover)" opened to inventors in solving the question, "What shall we do fir a sa!e light, more satisfactory j than oil, and so cheap that the poorest ! can u-e it '.''' Many solutions of this j question have been proposed, but hitherto experience has shown that all I were interior, for some cause or other, when brought into practice, to the old method of generating illuminating gas. The Pacific Pneumatic Gjs Company, Com-pany, however, claims to have answered an-swered llit: q- cstion fully, and is pie-pared pie-pared to erect w... k- winch w ill furnish fur-nish ga-. fice lioiu all impurities and superior in brilli me;, lo tho be-te. al gas, at lioiu one-third to one-fiurji the cost at which, in this State, coal gas, in quantities of li m L'.Oj'i to -tl.U'AI cubic feet per day, can be made. I The principle of the-e works I'or small towns, is the same as tint u-ed . in our domestic Works; the d.tf rciice is in the method of compressing the itmo-pheie, and of charging it with the vai..rs of g.-i.-oleiie. In works for towns a rotary air pump, driven by a small steam engine, or other steady motive power, forces the air thruurjh the gasolene, making an excessively rich gas. This is collected into a gasholder, gas-holder, and then, by the admis-ion of air direct from the pump, it is diluted in .he proportions of one, two or three parts of atmosphere to one of gas, as in the judgment of the operator, guided guid-ed by a test-light, may be desirable to bring the contents to the desired quality. Ihe Pacific l'licuiuatie Gas Com-pany Com-pany has erected works on this principle prin-ciple at Mare Man., for the United Slates Navy Department, which are producing excellent gas at all e.i .'ni-ueJ'u.in, .'ni-ueJ'u.in, I,, io n'yior.
