Show I TON COUNTY ORE Good Looking Tuck From the Home I II stake Near Little Pinto In yesterdays issue mention was made of the promising prospect in j Iron county near Little Pinto owned J by the Page brothers Dan and Robert I and the statement was made that the I I I > t i boys had uncovered a threefoot ledge I at n depth of 25 feet which carried values of 72 < per cent lead 52 ounces lead I silver and 4 in gold to the ton The Page boys have been hard at work in the development of this property prop-erty which is named after the great Homestake for quite awhile and the indications are that they have struck a bonanza and the splendid mineraliza tion of that region would lead to the belief that in time and with the expenditure ex-penditure of a little money and labor some fine producers of silver and lead gold and copper would be opened up in that locality For some lime past the Page boys have been sending samples of ore from the Homestake for assay to Colonel Colo-nel S B Miner of this city and yesterday yes-terday he received two lots of mineral from the recent discovery one of whicha white quartz and spar evidently evi-dently runs very high in its silver contents con-tents while there is no question of the other as it is a heavy galena and excellent shipping ore The Homestake is located on the north side of the great iron mountain which is a noted landmark in that region re-gion and it is evident that this wonderful won-derful deposit of iron is the capping and the source of the magnificent deposition de-position of orebearing rock with which that regioh is favored and while but little work has been done to prove up these deposits it is the general impression im-pression in mining circles that the day is not far distant when Pinto Iron district will become famous for its big and paying mines |
