Show DOUGLASS JURY IS STILL OUT BESUXTS Will BE ANNOUNCED THIS MORNING Case Was Argued Yesterday and Submitted at 4 oclock Defendant Defend-ant Shows No Concern Over the Outcome The jury In the Douglass murder case was out all night and will not present a verdict before 9 oclock this morning At 830 last night Judge Rolapp sent to ascertain when a verdict would probably prob-ably be agreed upon but the lury had no communication to make to the court I communicton y and could not tell when i would have The judge then announced that he would adjourn court till 9 oclock this morning The trial was resumed yesterday with a continuation of the argument budge b-udge Bagley begun the evening before be-fore 11 Bagley occupied the entire morning and took about half an hour of the afternoon session making a powerful plea for his client He devoted 1 i voted his attention to the insanity tea I ture of the defense Mr Evans made the closing argument argu-ment for the prosecution Since the evidence had all been reviewed by Mr Peery the prosecuting attorney Mr Evans did not make a prolonged argument argu-ment The jut began delivering his charge I about 4 oclock I The charge was a comprehensive com-prehensive one and especially i expounded I expound-ed the law relating to insanity and its status as a defense The defendants attorneys took exception to two features I fea-tures of the charge but were nevertheless never-theless well satisfied with it Douglass spent the night in his accustomed ac-customed manner and was apparently little concerned as to the outcome I |
