Show j CAUSED A FLURRY I JOrde of Secretary Alger in Reference to Cuban Affairs I Aair Chicago July 3 A special to the TimesHerald from Washington says I There was quite a flurry of interest in the Cuban question In town last night I when i became known that Secretary Alger had Intimated to Captain T H I Bliss who will shortly go to Madrid I as military attache to the American legation le-gation there that it would be Inadvis g Itl dn hI ra 1W able to take Mrs Bliss and her chIldren chil-dren with him because of the possibility possi-bility of trouble Lieutenant George W Dyer the naval dttache also proposes to go to Madrid unaccompanied by any I I member of his family These developments j develop-ments are generally accepted as an In1 I I dication that the administration expects ex-pects more or less excitement In Madrid during the coming autumn or as soon as Minister Woodford shall have had opportunity to present the demands of this government to the Spanish court I was developed today that Consul General Lee is expected to arrive in Washington during the next two weeks He will not return to Cuba General Lees homecoming will be in season to admit of consultation between him and General WoOdford as the latter Is not to sail until near the last of the month I Is the desire of the president that before entering upon his important task at Madrid General Woodford shall be In possession of every obtainable scrap of Information concerning the situation In Cuba and a consultation with General Gen-eral to him Lee will therefore b of advantage I |
