| Show SEEDLESS APPLE NOT GOOD sors from the B Y U and agricultural college defuse refuse to recommend it wm 1 II 11 l wilcox of the syracuse horticultural society writes us its as follows concerning the seedless s apple there is a great deal being said in regard to the spencer seedless apple and by the way there are two other seedless apples in the U S but neither the horticulture ests of the B Y university of provo nor of the agricultural college of logan will recommend the extensive planting of the apple and it a perfect seedless as several specimens have con contained seeds nhe price asked for trees makes it prohibitive to yant them I 1 have bave said the above in re regard gaird to the spencer apple because I 1 saw the write up you gave it in your last issue I 1 hope our people will not be bitten by this latest fad said that the apple is coreless which is not the case the seed cases are well formed in the apple and tile the little hard part of the core that t gets vets in your teeth in eating common apples is still in the spencer and I 1 fail to see any advantage over the common common apple at the chamber of commerce in n salt lake city specimens ti i the apple were put in a basli with other apples and tourists selecting I 1 ee t in apples from the basket would invariably leave the spencer it equal in show to our other apples WM II 11 WILCOX see sec syracuse efort society |
