I A BOGUS DETECTIVE I i i II Charged With Extorting Hush Money I I From Cache County People I Logan Jan 3The facts have just leaked out as to how some of the citi zens of this county were bled last fall i by a man named George Marvin who I i said he was the representative of an i 1 Indiannapolis detective agency He 1 was in Logan quite a while and is charged with putting up several jobs on certain parties here asking the i i officers to help him carry them out i Marshal McGulloch was rather sus picous of him however and so refused i re-fused Finally Marvin heard that a certain resident of Mendon was making j I I whisky on the sly He hastily repaired re-paired thither it is charged and representing himself to be a United States revenue officer he succeeded in scaring his victim so badly that he put j I up 75 in cash a couple of good 1 watches and some other articles in j order to be let alone Marvin is accused j i ac-cused of playing the same game in I Smithfield and in other parts of thp i county At last one of the victims j gave it away and the officers were notified But Marvin had fled and all efforts to locate him have thus far failed I faied I
