was rendered by the choir and In behalf be-half of the visiting Endeavorers Rev Ira Landrith of Nashville Tenn responded re-sponded to the various addresses of welcome The next incident was attended with wild demonstrations o enthusiasm I was the badge banner for the greatest proportionate In number of societies during the last 12 months which has been possession of Scotland during the past year I was won by Ireland and was presented In behalf of the United society by Rev Charles A Dickinson of Boston I was a longtime long-time before the applause subsided after the victory of the Emerald Isle was announced The Junior badge banner given for the greatest proportionate Increase in number of societies during the last 12 months was awarded to Spain and was I presente by W H Vogler of Indian apolis in a neat address I had been in possession of Mexico After singing by the monster choir the Mechanics Pavilion meeting then adjourned until evening The crowd at Woodwards Pavilion was almost as large as that In the Mechanics Me-chanics Pavilion although It Is further fur-ther from the center of the city Rev Howard B Grose of Boston Mass presided A welcome by the choir preceded ceded the devotional exercises conduct ed by Rev Soo Noo Nam Art an oriental I ental clergyman of this city Vice Chairman J S Webster delivered the welcome of the committee of 97 Rev J K McLean of Oakland that of the Golden Gate pastors and Mayor phe lan spoke In behalf of the city the response re-sponse being made by Rev Silas Mead Adelaide South Australia Immediately after the reading or Secretary Baurs report the badge banner for the greatest increase In number of societies during the past year which had been held by England was retained and represented to the same country the address being delivered de-livered by Rev W J Darby of Evans I vllle l The Junior badge banner I for greatest increase in number of societies held by Pennsylvania for three years was wrested from the Keystone state by Ohio whose representatives repre-sentatives were extremely enthusiastic when the presentation was made by Rev J Z Tyler of Cleveland Then n poem The Army of Daybreak Day-break by Rev Ernest Warburton Shurtleff of Plymouth Mass was read and favorably received The delegates then adjourned to assemble again at night During the noon hour evangelistic services were conducted at the Y M C A hall by C N Hunt of Minneapolis and Rev Charles Roads of Chester Pa At the chamber of commerce T E David of South India and Rev Ford C Ottman of Newark N J conducted the services A meeting at the Emporium Em-porium was addressed by Rev J Wilbur l Wil-bur Chapman of Philadelphia IN THE EVENING The sessions of this Christian Endeavor En-deavor convention this evening both o > t the MpcharIcs pavilion and Wood wards were even more largely attended at-tended than those held In the morning and fully 20000 people listened to the proceedings at the Mechanics pavilaon The monster meeting in WOo
