Show THE TUFTS ESTATE A Grand Legal Array I in Prolmto Court Yesterday In the probate court yesterday the interlocutory proceedings to ascertain if I there is any property in the hands of r Jennie Tufts that should be turned over to Administrator Fisher Harris came on under citation as per continuance from September 5 1895 and continuances subsequent thereto The counsel representing the litigants was aged as follows Powers Straup and LIppman and Ogden Og-den HUe were looking after the Interests Inter-ests of Mrs Jennie Tufts the second Wlfo of Elbrldge Tufts deceased Brown and Henderson have the cause ofMre JEleahor B WIckel alleged first wife of Elbridge Tufts who was granted grant-ed a church divorce now claimed legal and has a sort and heir Messrs Richards and Richards are sector that Administrator Usher Ear i t S L rls does not get the worst of an administration ad-ministration that has more points to it than a marine compass Airs Jennie Tufts was sworn and from the witness stand testified to her life and property accumulations under un-der two matrimonial ventures Her maiden name was Wignall and she first married William Thomas in Pay son Nevada When Thomas died she had left to her about 10000 in cash which her mother took care of for her In a trunk She next married Elbridge Tufts In 1SS5 at Payson By work and frugality their property increased to 520000 Thomas who died in Lincoln county Nevada left three children two girls and t boy now 22 10 and 15 years old respectively These children were now withher at her home Fifty shares of mining stock two lots in Payson some farms and ranches horses and cattle all worth perhaps 50000 were the acknowledged estate of Mrs Tufts at the present time At the conclusion of Mrs Tufts testimony tes-timony the matter was again adjourned adjourn-ed to allow the stenographer to transcribe tran-scribe his notes when it is said Richards Rich-ards and Richards will make a motion mo-tion that all this property be turned over to the administrator And thus the matter rests |
