Show I NEWS fROM OVfR TIff STATE I ATTACKED JUDGE JOHNSON Clarence Marsh of Price Arrested For Disturbing the Peace Price Utah June 19Clarence Marsh was arrested today on a charge of disturbing the peace having it is alleged made a slanderous public attack at-tack upon Judge Jacob Johnson this district For two days the case of Clarence Marsh vs H G Mathis ha been on trial This case involved the rights to the use of certain of the waters of Price river belonging to the Price rater ra-ter company and the conduct of the officers of the company in controlling the water S R JThurman of Provo and George Sutherland of Salt Lake represented the defendant and John I I Zane appeared for the plaintiff At the close of plaintiffs case the I judge granted a nonsuit on the motion I mo-tion of the defendant Marsh the plaintiff was disgruntled at the decision and according to the I statements of those who heard him I I proceeded to deliver from his own I dooryard an insulting and slanderous tirade against the judge At the top of his voice he haranged for fully I an hour and the people who were attracted > at-tracted for blocks around listened in astonishment Finally he was silenced by officers and his arrest followed The case will be heard by the justice of Spring Glen precinct as the Price justice declined to hear it because he was connected with the case tried in j I I the district court j To the fact that the county attorney to be sent at Castle and sheriff have present Cate Dale attending the district court for the next few days the case has gone I over for hearing until Monday June 27 I |
