I FOUGHT FOR lHEIR I LIVES Desperate Battle Between Colorado 1 I Boys and n Bear I SxKal t The Hertald Marble Colo July 7Henry Sutton and Daniel Hart two boys had a desperate 1 des-perate encounter with a bear that attacked at-tacked them in a dense undergrowth They could not escape and had to fight for their lives Hart wounded the animal which became be-came more furious and struck at Sutton Sut-ton who plunged n knife into f Hart fired again Then the bear struck Sutton a blow that sent him ten feet Bruin was on the point of killing Sutton when a lucky shot from Hart dispatched him He weighed 582 pounds and measured 5 feet 10 inches Nearby Near-by was n ave in which was a female bear with cubs which accounted for the attack The other bears escaped
