Show grandma watts dead elizabeth watts familiarly known as grandma watts south weber died in hooper on oil christmas day p the funeral services were huld hold monday in ill the south weber meeting house levi hammond of hooper jabez Bri bright eglit parley P prophet and georgo george allen alien of south weber spoke at the services tho the remains were laid to rest in the south weber cemetery mrs watts was born in 1815 in ill tile the state of mississippi joined the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1842 and ad emi emigrated rated to nauvoo with her husband the same year in 1830 she with her husband and six children crossed the plains with wilh an ox team and two yoke of cows cowe on arriving here they settled on what was then called brooms fort being 0 the ground now occupied pied bythe by the union depot in 0 ogden in the fall of 1851 1831 the family moved to south weber they were the first settlers on the weber in that place where she lived up the present time her husband preceded her by twenty three years she was a good wife and mother kind and ready to help those in need |
