OCR Text dam caves in it is reported by parties coming down from the weber and davis davis counties canal co s reservoir that the dam has caa caved ed in toward the reservoir the lam dam is constructed with a steel face with a backing 0 of cemented concrete and tile whole backed up by huo huge 0 masses of stone blown from the cliffs on either side of the canyon or gorge gorfie it is said that the steel face and concrete work have given way ent entirely irely the cause is thought 0 to be due to the expansion and contraction 0 of f tile the s teel steel on the face since the water has run out as the reservoir is now empty this will be a very heavy ex pense to the company for if the damage is as serious as reported the dam will have to practically be reconstructed this company has been at a very heavy expense already in tile the construction of the darn dam although althou i alie site was considered one of the easiest and safest known to construct a reservoir on tribune sept
