Show HIS SEVENTYFIFTH BIRTHDAY I Edward > Stevenson Receives the Con pfrntnlationB of His Friends A very pleasant affair was given in the Fourteenth ward assembly rooms last evening The occasion was the celebration of the seventyfifth birthday birth-day of Elder Edward Stevenson of the first council of seventies of the Latter day Saints The use of the meetinghouse meeting-house was proffered Elder Stevenson the invitations being Issued by himself Quite a number of the leaders and prominent men of the church were present among them being Presidents George Q Cannon and Joseph F Smith and Apostles Brigham Young John Henry Smith and Francis M Lyman Addresses were made by each of the above named and also by SMesdames Zina D Young and Isabella R Horne The opening prayer was offered by Elder Seymour B Young Elder George Goddard sang the hymn Whos on th Lords Side Who and the congregation joined In the chorus A recitation was also given by Miss Frankle Young The remainder of the evening was passed In partaking refreshments and In soclahhtt rcaurse A spirit of good feeling and fellowship prevailed and many were the coagratu lations and good wishes offend the host of the evening who has successfully fully outliyed tnerftllotted thrile score and ten by five yeartmii folds fair to live of usefulness many more to coBnntiSrjS career |
