Show RATES ARE reasonable A false impre slon corrected pan american exposition railroad fares FT and hotel mies bat low as could be 1 buffalo N Y july SO 30 A joint meeting of railway passenger agents hotel and newspaper men was waa hell held this afternoon with the view of adopting some borne means tor for correcting so BO lar far as possible the impression that appears to prevail at distant points that railway rates to the pan american exposition are high and that hotel rates in duffalo buffalo are excessive the conler center ence revealed the fact act that buffalo can accommodate two hundred thousand visitors in its private houses and hotels at rates ranging from fitly fifty cents to two dollars per night and that no one need pay more than one dollar tor for a first class claes lodging in a private house it was also shown that the railroad rate Is lower than for or any former exposition tor for a five ten or fifteen day ticket according to distance tance being at the rate ot of one tare fare plus one dollar tor for the round trip from all parts of the country the niagara falls cheap one day special excursions of 0 former years when trains were overcrowded and everyone subjected to great discomfort are remembered only so tar far as the low rate is concerned and this Is quoted as showing what might be done the passenger agents assert that the present halt rates are as low as can reasonably s 0 n a b 1 y b be e e expected x p e c te d A an n extension e n s 1 on 0 ext rif t the b e p present r e se n t 1 limit 1 m i t h has a s b been e en looked 0 0 k e d fo tor as it gives too choit a time for anyone to see the big exposition but it has haa not yet been modified other points which the representatives of the publishers association will lay stress upon are that the exposition Is completed in all details and that both buffalo and tho exposition are well policed and as free from dangerous characters as any city in the country A joint committee waz was appointed to deal with affecting the exposition and tho the proper welcome and care of guests the exposition has had in operation for some time a tree free bureau of 0 information tor for the convenience 0 of intending visitors |
